“Rhumb Line”

A rhumb line is a line across the surface of the Earth that follows a single compass heading. I am interested in how we cross the round and textured surface of the planet–and the tension with the visually direct path of the rhumb line.  

I use oil paint and printmaking techniques to develop dimensional, interlacing landscapes and charts. They reach out into space–using multiple surfaces to capture a path across the planet.
